Elizabeth + Francis | Engaged | Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

Engagement

Elizabeth and Francis had their engagement session in Old Town Alexandria during the earlier months of Spring. During their engagement session, I truly got to know them and saw that they were meant to be. As I was learning about them as individuals, I also got to know them as a couple and saw that they were truly meant for each other. Their love for each other is so genuine and wholesome. One thing that I quickly picked up on was that they are both avid lovers of Jesus and He is truly the center of their relationship. Francis always felt that he was called by God to marry Elizabeth and this is how their proposal happened:

“Well, with COVID-19, our options were pretty limited. Francis called my parents that week for their blessings, and coordinated with my brother, sister-in-law, and mom to be a part of the day. He took me to a park (Lake Accotink) where we often go for walks and lunch. On a bench along the trail, we stopped to rest. He took a note from his bag and read it. It was a letter that he wrote to his parents explaining why he loves me and feels called by God to marry me. For his parents, this was how he got their blessing. I knew the letter existed but didn’t previously know what it said. At the end of the letter he typed in Korean, “Elizabeth will you marry me?” As I have been learning Korean, he asked me to read it and guess what it says. As I read it he pulled out the ring. After I read it, he asked me that (in English) on one knee. To my surprise, my sister in law, brother and mom jumped out from behind nearby trees. We ended the day spending time with them and calling friends. In good covid fashion, we enjoyed a “dinner out” in the mall parking lot.”
